As you may already know, we at Elliott Berman Textiles import fabrics for designers as well as designer fabrics. We currently carry beautiful fabrics from Prada, Valentino, Chanel, Missoni, and Versace, just to name a few. You can use these fabrics to make anything from dresses to coats to blouses. Our specialty has always been fancy and avangard fabrics which are always ahead of time.
The most surprising element in our textile collection is that even the last season's fabrics can be popular and in demand up to date. For example, one of our best selling fabrics is wool coating from Milly. Its different color ways, fabulous boucle hand, and eye catching zigzag pattern keep it current. The fabric is 99% virgin wool and 1% nylon. It comes in three different color ways: Elegant Jet Black and Sharkskin White; Vibrant Lime, Teal, and Bodacious Magenta; African Violet, Fiery Yellow, Airy Blue, and Rose Pink. Surprise, surprise! All three color ways contain the shades from the Fall 2016 Pantone Fashion Color Report and certainly are in trend. |
Get inspired by one of the garments from Milly's collection or create one of your own. For instance, Milly designs a sophisticated but fun, knee length, sleeveless dress, adding vertical leather details to break up the pattern and a leather belt-look strip to accentuate the waist. You can make your dress unique by adding long sleeves or shortening the hem. Another item from Milly's collection is a stylish zigzag tweed zipper mini skirt, which is completed with a nylon spandex waistband and a strip of African violet wool cashmere at the bottom. Make your own signature skirt by adding pockets to this trendy design. And at last, the jet black color way is styled into a jacket with leather sleeves and a leather lined zipper. You can also use this very fabric to create an oversized cardigan that will be as timeless and irresistible as the wool.
No matter what fabric you use to create a garment or whether you're trying to get inspired by a designers creation, remember the following Ralph Lauren's words, "Fashion is not necessarily about labels. It's not about brands. It's about something else that comes from within you."
